Cupping Massage

At Tension Cupping is a unique and effective treatment that many clients rave about! It involves placing special cups on the skin to create suction—this helps increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and promote healing. I'm trained in both traditional and modern cupping techniques and uses it as an adjunct to massage for targeted relief.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Suction: Cups (made of silicone or glass) are applied to the skin using a pump or heat. The suction lifts the superficial layers of muscle and fascia, creating space and reducing tightness.
  2. Increased Blood Flow: Cupping increases blood circulation to the area, which helps deliver oxygen and nutrients while removing waste products—think of it as a mini-workout for your tissues.
  3. Pain Relief: It’s particularly effective for muscle pain, backaches, neck stiffness, and even headaches. The suction can help break up adhesions (those “knots”) and release trigger points.
  4. Bruising (Optional): Cupping often leaves temporary circular marks on the skin—these are harmless bruises that indicate blood flow has been stimulated. I will discuss this with you beforehand and adjust the pressure accordingly. Some clients prefer lighter suction to avoid bruising.

I typically combine cupping with massage techniques for a comprehensive treatment. For example, I might use it after deep tissue work to further release tension or as a standalone therapy for specific pain points. The 90-minute session with cupping is $120—does that sound like something you’d be interested in trying?

I also offers CBD treatment (+15) or aromatherapy (+10) add-ons to enhance the benefits. Would you like to explore those options as well?
